The Stuyvesant High School Parents’ Association helps pay for many items and projects, big and small, for which the school’s DOE budget does not provide funding. Our goal is to get 100% of our families to make a contribution of any amount. For your convenience, there are several different ways you can donate to the Annual Appeal Fund:

Donate Stocks

 

Many brokerage firms allow their clients to open Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). It’s a tax-smart way to donate to your favorite charities like the Stuyvesant High School Parents’ Association.  Making a contribution to your DAF can potentially increase your tax savings and give more to the causes you care about most.  

 

A DAF is a charitable investment account that allows donors to:

  • Contribute cash, stocks, or other assets

  • Receive an immediate tax deduction

  • Invest funds for tax-free growth

  • Recommend donations to charities of their choice over time

When you donate long-term appreciated assets, such as stocks or bonds, directly to charity, you generally won’t have to pay capital gains and you can take an income tax deduction in the amount of the full fair-market value. That is in addition to the tax deductions you receive as donating to any public charity. Tax Deduction Receipts

Stuyvesant High School Parents’ Association is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3). Your donations are for use in the United States only and are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt confirming your donation. 

 

Corporate Matching Gift Program

Many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees. By simply completing a matching gift form, you may be able to double, or even triple, the impact of your gift to the StuyPA! Donation Challenges

Matching donation challenges like "Every dollar donated up to $10,000 will be matched by a generous donor" are a great way to encourage individual giving and participation within a set timeframe.
