Proper Procedure:
- If you fall victim to a crime or witness a crime in progress call 911 immediately.
- Be as specific as possible when reporting an incident - include its time, location and detailed descriptions of the parties involved.
- Remember, if a crime is not reported it is as though it never happened and appropriate manpower will not be allocated to resolve the issue.
Call 311 for the following:
- DRUG DEALING: to anonymously report all types of drug dealing activity (call your local police precinct as well, if the problem is ongoing). Drug deal in progress should be immediately reported to 911
- QUALITY OF LIFE HOTLINE: to report a non-emergency situation, i.e. disorderly conduct, panhandling, graffiti, littering, noise, public drinking, etc.
- CRIME STOPPERS: to report a violent crime after the fact

DYCD YOUTHLINE: 800-246-4646 or 311: a toll-free telephone information service for young people, parents, service providers, and the community. Individuals can talk to DYCD YOUTHLINE'S 16 to 24 year old "Listeners," about anything on their minds. Listeners are capable of assisting callers in any type of situation whether it is a youth in crisis, family conflict, relationship problems, or help in locating after school and recreation programs in their neighborhoods. DYCD YOUTHLINE "listeners" utilize AT&T's Language Line to communicate with callers in 152 languages.
SPARK: Angel Colon, 212-312-4800 ext. 2733, room 273. An extension of the guidance services at Stuyvesant, SPARK offers training in peer leadership, counseling, tutoring and mediation. It is a place where students get to know each other in a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere while studying, relaxing or participating in one of the peer workshops.
