Through January 12, 2012 the PA has received nearly $120k in Annual Appeal contributions. However, due to DOE budget cuts and increased expenses we certainly need more. Families,
A warm welcome
to our new and returning families!
Our children are
fortunate to attend one of the nation’s finest schools. They join generations of leaders in the
sciences, government, business, and the humanities who have received an outstanding
education at Stuyvesant during its century-old history. The Parents’ Association of Stuyvesant High
School actively supports this high quality learning by generously donating
time, energy and funds. Your
support makes the PA’s support of the school possible.
As the City and
State continue to put the burden of the budget gap on education, Stuyvesant
bears the weight of cuts like every other school. The PA’s contributions are critical to the
quality of our children’s learning. Tens
of thousands of parents’ dollars go annually to academic departments to
fund research and to purchase computers, books, and classroom and laboratory
equipment. Your donations allow the
College Office staff to demonstrate your students’ achievements to admissions
officers. Stuyvesant is known for both
the range and excellence of its extracurricular programs such as Speech &
Debate, Math Team, Robotics Team, Sports Teams, Model U.N., and theater
productions. More than 200 afterschool
clubs, publications and teams help our kids to grow and learn … tens
of thousands of your dollars also go to these activities every year. This year, the PA has already allocated funding
for: a pilot program for seniors to practice college interviewing; the award
winning Caliper, the nation’s oldest
high school literary publication; equipment for a new forensic science class;
and a pilot program to bring textbooks on Kindle devices to the school library.
Over 95% of our
PA funds go directly to school, parent and community building activities. Your donations provide more than half of
the school’s non-salary expenses to enhance our children’s experience. The PA also sponsors activities to help
parents actively participate in our children’s education. For example, we are funding the Korean translation
of Parent Coordinator Harvey Blumm’s weekly email after the DOE cut our Korean
school aide in October. And we thanked
our hard-working teachers with a faculty reception before the Parent Teacher
Conferences. Your contributions strengthen
Stuy’s academics and extracurriculars and build the school community.
We greatly
appreciate the generosity of everyone who has already made a donation to our
2011-2012 Annual Appeal, but we have a long way to go to reach our goal. The PA
needs your contribution to help Stuyvesant provide the best learning
environment for our children and remain one of the nation’s top high schools.

자녀들을 미국에서 제일 좋은 학교 중의 하나인 스타이에 보낼 수 있는 저희 학부모들은 참 행복한 사람들입니다. 100여년의 역사를 통해 우리 스타이는 과학, 정부기관, 경영일선과 인문과학계통에서 대를 거듭하며 인재를 양성해 오고 있습니다. 우리 스타이 학부모회(이하PA)는 시간과 열정과 기부금의 아낌없는 지원을 통해 학교의 수준 높은 교육을를
지원해왔습니다. 바로 여러분의 협조가 PA의 지원을 가능하게 합니다.
뉴욕 시와 주 차원에서의 예산난으로 교육분야가 많은 타격을 받고 있고 스타이도 예외가
아닙니다.
PA의 기부금은 우리 자녀들의 우수한 교육을 유지하는데 필수적 입니다. 우리는 스타이의 각 학과부서에 연구를 위해 몇만불의 자금을 지원하고 컴퓨터, 교과서, 실험실장비등을 제공하였습니다. PA 기금은 우리아이들의 업적을 대학입학 사령관들에게 소개하는 것을 가능하게
